Independence is the single most important thing a research-supply company can offer. Every Astrel Bio batch is verified by an analytical laboratory that has no commercial relationship with us — Janoshik Analytical — and the certificate of analysis is published on the relevant product page before that batch is released for sale.
What we test
Every batch we offer goes through identity verification by HPLC and mass-spectrometry confirmation. The two together establish — within instrument tolerance — that the material in the vial matches the published sequence and that the headline purity figure is supported by a clean chromatogram.
High-performance liquid chromatography establishes that the compound in the vial is the compound we say it is. Retention time, peak shape, and area-under-curve are compared against a reference standard. Anything below 98% by HPLC area is rejected.
Mass spectrometry on every batch confirms the observed ion matches the theoretical mass for the published sequence. A peptide of the wrong molecular weight is guaranteed to be the wrong material.
Lyophilised peptides are typically supplied as acetate or trifluoroacetate salts. The counter-ion can affect reconstitution and assay results, so we characterise it for every batch.
Lot-aged retesting at six and twelve months establishes the storage window we publish. Inventory that falls below threshold is withdrawn and affected customers are notified.
Who tests for us
Janoshik Analytical is a Czech independent analytical laboratory widely used by the European research-supply community. They publish their methodology and they have no commercial relationship with any supplier — including us. The independence is the value.
Every Astrel Bio batch arrives with a Janoshik reference number printed on the certificate of analysis. That reference is verifiable on Janoshik’s public portal — you can confirm independently that the report came from them.

A certificate of analysis is a small graph and a large amount of information. If you only look at the headline purity number you are missing most of what the analytical chemist was trying to tell you. The fields below are what to read first.
For a deeper walkthrough of chromatogram interpretation see our journal article Reading an HPLC chromatogram.
Where to find a COA
Every product page links to the certificate of analysis for the current batch. The lot number printed on your vial matches the lot on the COA. If they do not match, contact us — your order is not correct and we will replace it.
Historical batch reports are archived. If you need the COA for a lot you bought more than a year ago, email us with the lot number and we will send the report.
